Morganite is a member of the beryl family, the same mineral family as emerald and aquamarine, prized for its delicate pink-to-peach color. It was discovered in Madagascar in the early 1900s and named by gemologist George Kunz in honor of J.P. Morgan.
Traditional associations
- Love and compassion: known as the Stone of Divine Love and connected to the heart chakra.
- Peace and tranquility: its soft pink energy is associated with calm, gentle moments.
- Spiritual growth: linked to purpose, inner strength and staying true to your path.
- Abundance: associated in metaphysical tradition with a positive outlook and manifesting your goals.
Natural formation
Morganite crystallizes in granite pegmatites from mineral-rich hydrothermal fluids. Traces of manganese give it its signature pink color, while cesium can shift it toward peach and salmon tones.
